We are looking for a Product Developer or a Product Coordinator for a dog gear brand!

The Black Fox Company Oy is looking for a new addition to its production team! Depending on your experience, your role will be either Product Developer or Product Coordinator. Your role mainly falls under the Woolly Wolf brand, but you are prepared to support the product development team for the VAI-KO brand as needed.

Finnish The Black Fox Company Oy houses Woolly Wolf, which offers dog clothing and gear from recycled materials and VAI-KO, which focuses on clothing and accessories. Woolly Wolf’s products are designed for adventurous pets and their companions who want high-quality, functional gear without compromising on style. Our team is united by sustainable values, a passion for adventures, and giving belly rubs to our office dogs.

You will join our small product development and production team, where we collaborate closely across product development, production, and design. At the same time, you will have your own clear area of responsibility with Woolly Wolf products. In this role, you will report to the Product Development and Production Manager.

Your job description will take shape based on your experience into one of the roles below. Please let us know in your application which role you are primarily interested in. 

Tasks for the Product Developer include:

• Developing new products as well as the materials and trims used in them.
  
• Sizing and creating technical instructions for products.
  
• Coordinating the product development and sample process and tracking schedules.
  
• Ordering, commenting on, inspecting, and approving samples.
  
• Monitoring product development costs according to set target prices.
  
• Planning and executing product fittings and testing.
  
• Preparing products for production.
  
• Monitoring the first production runs of new products.
  
• Maintaining close communication and collaboration with our manufacturing partners.
  

Tasks for the Product Coordinator include:

• Coordinating the sample process and tracking sample order schedules.
  
• Ordering, commenting on, and inspecting samples.
  
• Creating and maintaining product instructions.
  
• Coordinating product fittings and testing.
  
• Maintaining product data.
  
• Supporting the product development team through various stages of the development process.
  
• Handling product claims/reclamations.
  
• Handling practical production-related tasks and communicating with manufacturing partners.
  

What do we expect from you? The person we are looking for has a relevant educational background (e.g., Designer, Degree in Clothing/Textile industry or similar). We value a proactive and solution-oriented approach to work, along with a desire to learn and develop our ways of working together with the team. You are a great team player who is detail-oriented and organized. You know how to schedule your tasks and manage your time smoothly, even under pressure. You can communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. You are familiar with Adobe Illustrator and possess good general IT skills. Since our office is also home to some four-legged team members, we hope you enjoy being around dogs.

For both roles, we consider it an advantage if you have experience in designing or developing dog accessories and apparel. Alternatively, being an active dog enthusiast with a solid understanding of dog anatomy, movement, and the proper fit of gear and apparel is also considered a great plus.

For the Product Developer, we additionally require previous work experience in apparel product development and the ability to develop products from prototypes all the way to production.

For the Product Coordinator role, we consider previous experience in apparel production (e.g., working as a Production Assistant) an advantage.
